Silver till Sverige vid EM i Sneek, Holland

Megan tog ett överlägset guld på EM i Sneek, Holland. På andra plats kom Henrik Johnsson och trea blev Guus Bijlard från Holland, fyra blev Björnar från Norge.

Inför den avslutande dagen med två seglingar så låg Megan i en ohotad ledning men det var desto mer spännande om platserna 2-4. Till slut gick Henrik ut som tvåa en poäng före Guus med Björnar på fjärdeplatsen.

IFDS meddelar att från och med 1 januari 2016 gäller 2.4 Norlin OD Class Rules för IFDS arrangemang

För seglare som deltar i av IFDS (International Association for Disabled Sailing) arrangerade seglingar gäller från och med 1 Januari 2016 enbart 2.4 Norlin OD Class Rules. Så för dom Svenska seglarna kommer det inte påverka så mycket, om man inte ska delta i handikapp VM eller Paralympic.

To whom it may concern;

Following your enquiries about the One-Person Keelboat, 2.4mR, below please find an announcement from the IFDS.

‘Until 31 December 2015, One-Person Keelboats, 2.4mR’s, shall compete in IFDS Level 1 Events under the following Rules:

• The 2.4 Norlin OD Class Rules or…
• The International 2.4 mR Class Rules (2013 V2) and Section K – Paralympic Class version 2011-10-08 of the International 2.4mR class rules.

From 1 January 2016, One-Person Keelboats, 2.4mR’s shall compete in IFDS Level 1 Events under the 2.4 Norlin OD Class Rules.’

Results of the Norlin One Design Rules vote on the EGM

‘YES’ votes were recorded for:

UK , Italy, Finland, Norway, Australia, Canada, USA, Netherlands, Sweden

Total votes in favour of the proposal  24 votes

‘NO’ votes were recorded for :

Germany

Total votes against the proposal  3 votes

The result then is that the Norlin One Design Rules as proposed are adopted and in force.

Minor typing errors and grammatical errors in the proposed rules are in process of correction and following receipt of the final copy it will be published on the International 2.4mR Class website. The deadline for this is the 21st May but in the meantime the meaning and essence of the rules as submitted for vote are available to you and will not be changed by the correction process.

NCAs are encouraged to submit rule changes both for the Norlin One Design Class and the International 2.4mR Class for consideration at the forthcoming AGM to be held in Toronto on the 28th September 2014. According to the current class constitution submissions for rule changes and nominations for class officer positions should be received well in advance of the 17th August 2014 to allow publication of the AGM papers.

Once the final copy of the Norlin One Design Rules are available your President will send a communication to all NCAs on the practical application of these rules and to refocus the work of both the TC and EC towards the Open International 2.4mR Class for the remaining period of this current working year.
